About this space

The McKinley Coach is a memorable accommodation that is anything but ordinary.  It was built in the 1880's by the International & Great Northern Railroad with square nails.  With a long history of owners, film buffs find it interesting that is was sold to 20th Century Fox to be used in the movies from 1946-1972.  You will find it appearing in "Love Me Tender," "The True Story of Jesse James," "Centennial Summer," "The Raid," "The Second Time Around," "Walls of Jericho," and "Powderkeg."

The space

The McKinley Coach at The Antlers Inn is very popular with families. Quirky, historic and charming all at the same time, the McKinley Coach has an open floor plan.

It has a king size bed, two twin beds, 1-1/2 bathrooms with a stand-up shower, a fully equipped kitchenette and a small living area with two full-size leather couches.  The McKinley is comfortable for either 4 adults, or 2 adults and 2 children.

There is an outside patio table where you can sit and enjoy the Texas Hill Country views and weather. A children's playscape is also on The Antlers Inn property nearby.

Guest access

You can park directly in front of your accommodation for easy access in and out. You can enjoy a stroll around our 8 acres of property or sit and relax in our shady, wooded areas.

We're located at the junction of the Llano and Colorado Rivers, on Lake LBJ, and we have walk-way access to Lake LBJ. There is a bench to take in the view, and there is a boat pier for day docking up to 2 boats. You can also fish off the pier if you have a fishing license. We have water "toys," including non-motorized kayaks and life jackets. Everything is on a first come, first serve basis.

On-site, we have Hooper's restaurant that is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner Wednesday through Saturday and for breakfast and lunch on Sundays. The restaurant is located inside house that was in the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie set. The house has been recently renovated, and Hooper's has a fresh, new menu.
